Description

As a city that was born with a clear marine vocation, the visit to the Port is almost a must once you arrive in Vilagarcía.

From the Muelle de Pasajeros, with an avenue that was recently pedestrianized, the entire expanse of the commercial port can be seen, and also, toward the north, the marina, with nearly 500 moorings, which make it one of the best in Galicia, and in the background, the beaches of A Concha and Compostela.

The marina has an eye-catching nautical building, built of wood and over the sea, in addition to a leisure area with restaurants, pubs, and a movie theatre with seven screens.

As a continuation of the marina’s recreational area, the visitor can enjoy the promenade that is nearly two kilometres long and connects the towns of Vilagarcía and Carril, following the coastline.

At the midpoint, the Visitor Service Centre (a building built on the beach) will offer the traveller all of the precise information about Vilagarcía and the region.

Mostrar/Ocultar transcripción

DID YOU KNOW… that Concha Beach, which is the urban centre of Vilagarcía de Arousa, and the Compostela Beach in Carril are linked by a seafront which is more than two kilometres long? This promenade is very frequented and offers several leisure activities.

While you stroll and enjoy the views of the Ría de Arousa, you will be able to see people gathering shellfish on foot and how they collect clams, crockles, etc.

This is one of the most fundamental and representative activities carried out in Carril.
