siradella

Description

In the peninsula of O Grove, the highest point is this mount. It’s an extraordinary viewpoint over the Arousa inlet and the open ocean. From here, we’ll be able to see the very close Atlantic Islands, the stretch of sand that joints the ancient Isle of O Grove to the neighbour municipality of Sanxenxo, and the rich creek of O Vao.

DID YOU KNOW… that you find yourself at the highest point of the whole O Grove Peninsula?

From this place, you will be able to enjoy a magnificent view of the Ría de Arousa. If you look closely you will see the isthmus called O Vao, which forms the 2.5 kilometers long and paradisiacal beach of A Lanzada.

In the past, this place used to have salt evaporation ponds, which gave name to this region. The Region of O Salnés.

DID YOU KNOW… that O Grove was an island in the past? This belief is based on old maps which prove that O Grove was once separated from the continent.

You have already seen the striking shape of the stones that form this viewpoint. But, did you know that there is a route of similar stones sculpted by the effects of air, which suggest animal or human shapes, along the seafront Pedras Negras (in San Vicente do Mar)?
